Hello, fellow food lovers! Today, I’m bringing you a salmon recipe that’s an absolute showstopper but deceptively simple to make. We’re talking about flaky, tender salmon fillets coated in a crunchy, savory pecan crust, all brought together with a luscious, sweet maple glaze. This isn’t just dinner; it’s an experience! It’s perfect for a cozy weeknight or impressive enough for a dinner party. The combination of sweet, salty, and nutty is truly unforgettable. Get ready to elevate your salmon game!
- 4 (6 oz) salmon fillets, skin on or off
- 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
- 2 tbsp pure maple syrup, plus extra for glazing
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges for serving (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- In a small bowl, combine the finely chopped pecans, 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, Dijon mustard, olive oil, minced garlic, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Mix well until everything is thoroughly combined and forms a crumbly paste.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps ensure a crispier crust. Place the fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
- Evenly spread the pecan mixture over the top of each salmon fillet, pressing gently to adhere the crust.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of your fillets.
- While the salmon bakes, prepare a quick glaze. In a very small saucepan, gently warm 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup over low heat for a minute. Be careful not to let it boil.
- Once the salmon is out of the oven, drizzle the warm maple glaze generously over each crusted fillet.
- Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges, if desired. This dish pairs wonderfully with roasted asparagus or a simple green salad.
