Imagine the creamy, velvety texture of a New York-style cheesecake married to the honey-soaked, nutty crunch of traditional Middle Eastern baklava. This Pistachio Baklava Cheesecake is the ultimate showstopper for any gathering, offering a sophisticated blend of textures and flavors that will leave your guests speechless.
Ingredients
- 24 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 10 sheets of phyllo dough
- 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
- 1 cup finely chopped pistachios
- 1/2 cup honey syrup (honey, water, and lemon juice)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
- Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in the pan, brushing each with melted butter and sprinkling lightly with pistachios.
- In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and sour cream. Pour over the phyllo base.
- Top the batter with the remaining phyllo sheets, buttering each layer. Score the top phyllo into diamonds using a sharp knife.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes until the edges are set. While warm, pour the honey syrup over the top layers.
- Chill for at least 6 hours before serving.
