Ingredients

  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 10 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
  • 1 cup finely chopped pistachios
  • 1/2 cup honey syrup (honey, water, and lemon juice)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
  2. Layer 5 sheets of phyllo dough in the pan, brushing each with melted butter and sprinkling lightly with pistachios.
  3. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla and sour cream. Pour over the phyllo base.
  4. Top the batter with the remaining phyllo sheets, buttering each layer. Score the top phyllo into diamonds using a sharp knife.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the edges are set. While warm, pour the honey syrup over the top layers.
  6. Chill for at least 6 hours before serving.
