I’ve always loved the creamy, sweet indulgence of a traditional mango lassi, but my taste buds sometimes crave a little something extra, a spark of adventure. That’s how my Zesty Spicy Mango Lassi was born! Imagine the luscious sweetness of ripe mango perfectly balanced with creamy yogurt, a hint of fragrant cardamom, and then – BAM! – a surprising, invigorating kick of fresh ginger and a tiny whisper of cayenne. It’s like a party in a glass, vibrant and utterly unforgettable. Trust me, once you try this unique twist, you’ll never look at a lassi the same way again. It’s refreshingly cool, incredibly satisfying, and just the right amount of spicy to wake up your senses!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ripe large mangoes, peeled and chopped (about 2 cups frozen or fresh)
  • 1 cup plain full-fat yogurt (Greek yogurt for extra thickness)
  • 1/2 cup cold water or milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup (adjust to mango sweetness)
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • Pinch of cayenne pepper (start small, add more if you dare!)
  • Ice cubes (optional, for extra chill)
  • Fresh mint sprig or a tiny sprinkle of cayenne for garnish

Instructions:

  1. If using fresh mango, cut the flesh off the pit and chop it into cubes. If using frozen, let it thaw slightly for easier blending.
  2. In a high-speed blender, combine the chopped mango, plain yogurt, cold water (or milk), honey (or maple syrup), fresh ginger, ground cardamom, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Make sure there are no ginger chunks remaining.
  4. Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary. If you like it spicier, add another tiny pinch of cayenne.
  5. If you prefer a colder lassi, add a few ice cubes to the blender and blend again until smooth.
