Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, browned and cooled
- 1 1/2 cups light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1 tablespoon white miso paste
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional)
- Flaky sea salt for finishing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk the cooled browned butter and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add the eggs, miso paste, and vanilla extract, whisking vigorously until the mixture is glossy and well-combined.
- Gently fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Do not overmix! Fold in white chocolate chips if using.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and sprinkle with a touch of flaky salt.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is set but still slightly soft.
- Let them cool completely in the pan before slicing to get those perfect clean edges.
